Rules and Terms

Please keep in mind that we focus on music and read these instructions to find out if your project complies with our festival. We are trying to encourage audio-visual works that are based around music, musicians, audio production, and relations between sound and image, as well as works that use music or sound as a driving force or an important structural part of storytelling.

The Festival is open to filmmakers from all over the world.

You can submit as many films as you wish, but you can't submit the same film two times.

We accept films not older than 2 years (counting from 1st of January of the current year).

We do not accept films released publicly, except for the music videos, but we do not ask for premiere rights.

Categories:

  1. The Value of Diversity

If your film deals with differences in society - apply! The project in this category should include documentary or fiction (including animation and experimental) movies that discuss socially relevant issues (e.g. human rights, gender equality, mental health etc.). It can be a collective or individual story, about a well-known problem or something you figured out by yourself.

    2. Music Documentary

The film could be focused on any music-related subject, or use music/sound as key points, or as an important part of storytelling. There are no language or music genre boundaries. The film can be combined with other forms (e.g. fiction), as long as the documentary is the main genre.

    3. Music Video - up to 10 min.

There are no genre or language limitations either in a visual or musical sense. It can be combined with other forms (e.g. fictional intro, or documentary ending), as long as it is a music video primarily.

    4. Non-verbal creative short - up to 15 min.

This is the form of video art, contemporary video installation, animation, experiment, fiction, or any other creative visual form with music and/or other sounds as its main element. It can contain singing, lyrics, or words in any language, but those can’t function as its narrative (no functional dialogue). The idea is to encourage the music and sound of the film as its driving force.

The author is obliged to write the age limit of the audience, which does not limit the application or selection of the film for the festival, but only affects the schedule of screenings and informing the audience about possible limits.

There are no language boundaries, but if your work is not in English or Serbian, you must provide subtitles for certain categories:
Feature music documentary – Serbian or English
Short music documentary – Serbian or English
Music video has no language boundaries but does not provide necessity for subtitles, but you can provide one if you wish
