prof. dr Dragan Živančević

Renowned painter, contemporary artist and author of a large number of video works, films and installations. Full professor at the Department of Fine Arts of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

He graduated at the Academy of Arts in 1992 in Novi Sad in the class of Professor Vladimir Tomić. In 2002, he received his master's degree in "Light pictograms - reinterpretation of tradition." He enrolled in PhD studies in Filmology at the Drama Department of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2006.

In addition to pedagogical work at the Academy of Arts, he also performs numerous functions related to the work of the Academy and the University. He primarily directed his artistic work towards new media and video production. He is also involved in drawing, painting, photography and graphic design, robot design and land art. He also deals with polemical criticism, where he talks about the problems of contemporary art practice with special reference to video art, photography and film. He has received multiple awards for film and fine arts, and has participated in a large number of solo and group exhibitions and film festivals.

He has organized and selected several film festivals, including the SHORTZ international film festival.
